Nestled in the serene landscapes of Karjat, Shalom farm stay at offers more than just a getaway— we offer a way of life rooted in harmony with nature. In a world that’s increasingly fast-paced and resource-intensive, we’ve chosen a different path: one that prioritizes sustainability, biodiversity, and mindful living.

The moment you arrive, you’ll notice something unusual, the number of butterflies and dragonflies around is tremendous. There’s a good reason why — our nights are darker. We intentionally maintain very limited external lighting across the property. This isn’t by accident, but by design. Artificial lighting can disrupt nocturnal ecosystems, disorient insects, and affect the delicate balance of nature. By keeping our surroundings dimly lit, we allow fireflies to glow in the monsoons, moths to navigate naturally, and the ecosystem to function as it should.
Our commitment to sustainability goes far beyond lighting. For over two decades, our land has remained free from chemical fertilizers, every mango, pineapple, chickoo and the loads of vegetables here are as safe as it can be. We rely on natural methods, from mulching and using cowdung to enrich the soil without harming it. This long-term approach has resulted in healthier soil, more resilient crops, and a thriving underground ecosystem that supports life above it.
Waste, too, is treated as a resource. All our wet waste is composted on-site, returning nutrients back to the earth. This simple yet powerful cycle reduces landfill contribution while nourishing the land that sustains us. It’s a closed-loop system that reflects our belief: nothing natural is truly “waste.”

The result of these mindful practices is a vibrant ecosystem teeming with life at Shalom Farm. Native plants, birds, insects, crabs, snakes and small wildlife coexist freely, creating an immersive experience for guests. Whether it’s waking up to birdsong, spotting butterflies during the day, or witnessing the quiet magic of a starlit night, every moment here connects you back to the natural world.
We also request guests visiting our farm stay in Karjat to avoid bringing single-use plastics wherever possible. This helps us protect the environment and ensures that the space remains clean, natural, and sustainable for everyone. This is not just a place to stay—it’s a place to slow down, observe, and reconnect. For those who value sustainability, respect the environment, and find joy in nature’s rhythms, Shalom farm stay in Karjat offers a rare and meaningful escape.
