From the moment we started looking on where to spend our holiday for our daughter's birthday, we wanted a place that was private and quite and most importantly "has a... read more pool". Clyde's place aka Shalom, pop-ed up on my search, after browsing through the pictures I knew it was the place.

The place is lovely, has a lot of nature around. My wife fell in love with the vegetation around. Lots of medicinal plants and trees around.

The food was brilliant. Mami is an awesome cook. Be it Maharashtran or any kind. My mouth still waters thinking about her Chicken curry.

More than anything, Clyde was always there to address whatever we needed even without being physically present. It was like our home for those few nights.

Will definitely return there and also I would recommend it to small families.

The cottage... read more itself is spacious, breezy and immaculately maintained. It’s not exactly luxurious but more than comfortable. The food made by the housekeepers is quite tasty and fresh. Clyde himself was very helpful and hospitable. He welcomed us to extend our departure time when we got stranded because of the rains and even offered to host us for an additional night if the roads didn’t open up. Later he checked in on us, to make sure we made it back safe and sound. Overall, it was a delightful experience and I heavy recommend pet parents to give this place a try since there are so few places that welcome pets so wholeheartedly.

The house is impeccably kept, very child friendly, with all the basic amenities in living areas and a fully equipped kitchen if you choose to cook, and even books and toys for the kids. If needed, caretaker Sunita is available to bring prepared breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner for extra payment.

We enjoyed walking around the well maintained farm -- to look at the various trees, and the flying insects and butterflies, lizards, the umpteen jumping frogs and the occasional crab as well -- Clyde gave a us a tour on the first day.

Of course, the highlight of the stay for the kids (and for us) was jumping in to the elegant swimming pool right in the backyard whenever they got a chance -- the caretaker took constant care of it to keep it clean of any stray leaves and twigs that fell into it. In the evenings, just as it started to get chilly, we lit up the bonfire that the caretaker set up for us in the day and enjoyed hanging out around it until later in the night.

All in all, a homestay with all the right things in place to ensure a relaxing break.

It’s a perfect place if you want to just get away from the city hustle and enjoy time with your near and dear ones or just sit quietly in between nature and sip a hot coffee

Short distance away there is a beautiful river where the caretaker can take you. It was amazing during the rains. There are some good restaurants about 15-30mins away.

Mama and Mami are very nice people who were always around to help without encroaching on our privacy. Mama took us for walks to a nice river spot and the water was very clean. Mami made meals suited to our requirements ( less oily and less spice) which was very tasty as well. Her chicken curry was excellent and my son loved it. We loved her tea as well.
The house also contained different indoor / outdoor game equipment.
