Our weekend stay at Shalom House was truly memorable.
Clyde is a fantastic host. He and his family really put in a lot of effort in welcoming us... read more to their home. The house is impeccably kept, very child friendly, with all the basic amenities in living areas and a fully equipped kitchen if you choose to cook, and even books and toys for the kids. If needed, caretaker Sunita is available to bring prepared breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner for extra payment.
We enjoyed walking around the well maintained farm -- to look at the various trees, and the flying insects and butterflies, lizards, the umpteen jumping frogs and the occasional crab as well -- Clyde gave a us a tour on the first day.
Of course, the highlight of the stay for the kids (and for us) was jumping in to the elegant swimming pool right in the backyard whenever they got a chance -- the caretaker took constant care of it to keep it clean of any stray leaves and twigs that fell into it. In the evenings, just as it started to get chilly, we lit up the bonfire that the caretaker set up for us in the day and enjoyed hanging out around it until later in the night.
All in all, a homestay with all the right things in place to ensure a relaxing break.

We were welcomed by Clyde and his family on arrival...the farmstay is a good weekend getaway. Open lawns/farm for morning and evening strolls. Decent sized pool for a quick dip... read more when the temp starts rising. Authentic and delicious local food by ‘mama’ the caretaker. The place was clean and nicely maintained. Our trip coincided with the heat wave in the area...so that was a bumper. Afternoons were quite hot. But other than that the stay was good overall.

This was a really cool experience. The place has road access and has a beautiful organic farm within the compound with a small nature walk.
The place opens... read more up to a set of larger farms on the other side with hilly views (you can actually hike up to these hills after walking for about 1 hour from the property)
The place was extremely clean with a functional kitchen. We had food prepared by mama and Mami (lovely people who work at the property) - the food is really simple but extremely tasty. I would recommend eating here.
There was a bit of a confusion with the food orders we had placed, but Clyde and mama Mami helped us resolve it immediately and also cooked some delicious meals for us through out.
I would 100% recommend this place for 3/4 people for a couple nights. The nature around the place during monsoons specially makes you feel you are away from the buzzing city lives.
Thanks to Clyde and Mama Mami for letting us stay and have a memorable stay.
If I had to change something -
I wish there were more yellow lights in the house over white lights.
I feel the mattresses could be a little better thicker.

Finding the right place wasn’t easy until we discovered Shalom.Just about a two-hour drive from Mumbai, the property sits on over an acre of lush land filled with fruit trees and flowers, making it a peaceful retreat. Two spacious bedrooms with attached bathrooms comfortably host up to four adults each. Despite the March heat, the double-height ceiling and greenery kept it cool.
